Happy New Year 2011

Happy New Year 2011 with best wishes for good health, good luck, peace and happiness to everyone.

Something old, something new for the new year!

This is a blog of fewer words to be less "lor so"...to blog with graphic images.

This is my favorite William Shakespeare cartoon for the blog:

In the words of Sunil Jain of Tech18:
As it is a start of New Year in our life and end of the old year which included all the moments of our life, So we usually prefer to do something new for every New Year, but few things can’t be changed like wishing everyone with a sweet “HAPPY NEW YEAR” message, finding out an ideal resolution which we will follow throughout the year, sending New Year Greetings by mails and many more such wonderful ways to celebrate NEW YEAR".
Some of the "100+ best Wallpapers of NEW YEAR 2011" are featured on this blog and more here .

I always found the Old Man and Baby New Year image odd.

So this little baby comes into symbolize the new year and for some reason he's wearing a top hat and a sash. Then, 365 short days later, he's a haggard old man, still wearing the sash, but at some point in the last calender year he's acquired an oversized hourglass and a scythe. What's the scythe for!? Was he cutting wheat?

The Old Man is Father Time, personifying the passage of time and the obsolete of all things old. Thus the scythe of the Grim Reaper.

The captions of the Grandfather Time pictues are left for you to fill in the blank in your own words. Have fun!

Hi James,

First of all, a very happy new year to you, your family and all your readers far and near.

I simply loved the cartoons of grandfather and baby time. Such ingenuity expressed in a very creative yet funny way to distinguish between the old that had past us by and the new that had just appeared before us. I think this cartoon can be recycle every year and not just limited to 2010 and 2011. After all, time is endless. It is an unbreakable cycle.

I wish the new year will bring new hopes and new opportunities to all of us in all aspects in our daily lives, be it in our studies, our careers or in our personal interactions. Stay happy and healthy too!
