3D Blog - Festive Street Bazaar (Part 1)

The first part of the "Walk the Blog" at Festive Street Bazaar of Chinatown starts from the entrance of Chinatown MRT Station at Pagoda View, visit Chinatown Heritage Centre and turn into Trengganu Street at the corner of "Olden Cuban".

The photo taken at "The TinTin Shop" (above) and the two photos of the shop in front with a head of the traditional lion dance costume along the original row of shops at Pagoda Street (below)

The two juxtaposed photos below to show the former row of tailor shops in the 1960s. Could you guess which were the tailor shops replaced here? We know they were somewhere there...have a good guess ; )

Most of the former tailors in Chinatown had sold their shops and relocated their business to other parts of Singapore, where their skills as popular craftsmen were in demand. The change of trade from tailor shops to souvenir and gift shops, currently serving Chinatown as an attractive place of interest for tourists and visitors.

Spot the differences of these two photos which were taken over 4 decades ago. What had you discovered the changes of the same place at Chinatown, different times taken in 1955 and recently in 2011? How do you feel?

It doesn't matter where or when. Celebration is the occasion to enjoy anywhere, anytime. Have a Happy Chinese New Year 2011. Cheers!

The "Olden Cuban" ends Part 1 of this "Walk the Blog" here.
